Rev. Dr. Donald R. Hudson was born in Texarkana, Texas and was raised in the city of Dallas, Texas. Upon building his foundation for the ministry, Dr. Hudson studied and received degrees from several leading colleges and seminaries in the nation. He completed undergraduate studies at Criswell College for Biblical Studies in Dallas. At Criswell he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Counseling. He also earned a Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry degrees from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.
Dr. Hudson has been in the preaching ministry for over twenty-five years, and has successfully served as Senior Pastor in Virginia, Nebraska, Michigan and Indiana. He has served as adjunct professor for Advanced Preaching at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary and was also the Instructor for the Study of Black Preaching and Theology at the Heritage Center for Religious Studies in Detroit.
Due to his academic pursuits, social and political involvements, as well as religious and educational contributions, Dr. Hudson has received numerous awards and citations. His name has been placed among the “Who’s Who Among Young African Americans”. And, he has been nominated for placement on the “Most Twenty to Watch List", which is a publication that recognizes the ministerial and leadership contributions of young preachers.
For the past nine years, Dr. Hudson has been an active committee and board member for several social, educational, and religious organizations. He continues to be an activist for both social and political change in our communities.
He is a loving and devoted husband to the lovely Leatrice Helena Hudson and together they are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters; Zuri Alexandria and Zenobia Re’.
